makeavid.app

Free, browser-based creative tools. No install - your files stay on your device.

How does this work? You open an app, and click to open a local file. This doesn't actually upload it to the server, it just gives the app running in your browser access to it. You can then work on it, and download the finished file (which is your browser creating/generating the file and "downloading" it). This is a win-win-win situation:

1: Your files don't leave your device, so you have privacy.
2: Your files don't take up space on our server, we don't need to charge lots of $$$ for storing your files.
3: You don't need to download and install another program to do some things. We are adding more and more apps for different uses.

We do welcome donations, but don't require them at this time. If we get enough donations to make it worthwhile then we will keep offering this service, and keep making new apps.

These apps do work best with Chrome or a Chromium browser like Edge, Brave, or Vivaldi. This is due to enhanced GPU encoding and media support (WebGPU) which accelerates image and video processing. We do have some fallbacks in place for other browsers for most apps, but they will not be as fast in most operations.

If you have suggestions for any app, click here to send us a message. We did use some AI assistance in writing these apps, however none of your data or files will be used, it can't be, it stays in your browser. We may offer some apps that have limited local AI features, however that will also run in your browser and the data will not be shared with us or anyone else, it doesn't get sent to any other websites.

The biggest disadvantage for you to use our site is that you need to save your files and project yourself. Our tools which allow you to do much work save your project in local storage (which is in your browser). This is pretty safe, unless you clear out your browser cache, whihh would erase the stuff you save in there. Our big tools let you download your project as a file, you can upload it to continue working. Again, 'Upload' really means you give your browser permission to work on the file using the app from our website, your file doesn't get sent to our website.
